Kwa Watoto Students Praying[/caption]eduKenya is committed to prayer. We pray to express gratitude and we pray to ask God for help and guidance. We pray because we know that we are entirely dependent on God. We pray because God is our leader.Richard Foster said, “If we truly love people, we will desire for them far more than it is within our power to give them, and this will lead us to prayer: Intercession is a way of loving others.” We pray because we long for lasting transformation for the people of Mathare and, specifically, the children at eduKenya’s Kwa Watoto school and their families. We pray to express our love.Will you join us in praying today? The eduKenya Vision Teams based out of Kenya and the US are intentional about praying on the first Monday of the month. It would be a privilege to have you join us.We are also forming a prayer team to be more intentional about prayer. The presidential election will take place on March 4, and tensions are already rising. The post-election bloodshed from 2007-2008 was horrific and is seared in the memories of Kenyans. Pray that hostility and discord will be quelled and replaced with a commitment to peace and unity.Now may the Lord himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. 2 Thessalonians 3:16 2. Pray for safety. Pray for protection during the election season for our students and their families, staff and the people of Believers Centre Church, our partner church.Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings. Psalm 57:1 3. Pray for a new school location. We are in the process of looking for land to build a new school. Pray for wisdom in choosing the right location and for the negotiation process.Since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives. Colossians 1:9 4. Thank God for our donors and pray for new fundraising initiatives. We are overflowing with gratitude for funding generously given in 2012! Our donors are an indispensable part of the eduKenya team and we are deeply grateful for them. Pray for our donors.
