Back to School

This week marks the beginning of Kenya's school year, which runs from January through November, and our schools are once again filled with the vibrant energy of students ready to learn!

After a well deserved break with family and loved ones, our dedicated staff gathered for eduKenya's annual opening staff meeting. This special time together allowed our leadership to welcome everyone back, reiterate and reinvigorate everyone about our shared vision, and prepare our Kenyan team on the ground for the meaningful work ahead.

As any parent or educator knows, transitioning back into the routine of early mornings and focused study takes intentionality, but we're confident that both our students and staff are ready to embrace the challenges and rewards this new year will bring.

Every year, our Executive Director, Adam, prayerfully chooses a theme verse for our entire team to contemplate and focus on, giving direction for the year ahead. This year, eduKenya will be guided by 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 which says, "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." These words will anchor our eduKenya team as we pursue not only academic excellence, but also growth in character and virtue.

In a community that struggles with poverty, hopelessness and despair, and a world that often feels uncertain, we believe this call to rejoice, pray, and give thanks will strengthen our students and staff through every triumph and trial they encounter in the months ahead.

Would you partner with us in prayer as this school year begins? We invite you to join us in asking God for focus, safety, and perseverance for each student and staff member as they step into 2026 with purpose.

Your prayers and support make all the difference in the lives of these young people, and we're grateful to have you standing with us.
